Hey bulldog pups. We’ve got an abridged version of RBD coming at you this week, for multiple reasons. For one, there’s a lack of news in the community. That’s a good thing, right? Two, it’s burnout season for students, and RBD is feelin’ it. So instead of a large story, we’re gonna hit you with our blurbs instead.

Winter Wonderland

December is a busy month for us bulldogs! There’s a few events coming up this month that we’d like to draw your attention to… First up we’ve got the talent show, hosted by the Leadership club, which is on Friday December 9th. Bring $5 or a set of pajamas to donate for entry! Next, we’ve got BHS Winter Paint Night which is Fundraising for Mental Health Awareness. Proceeds will go to NAMI of NH, and the admission is only $20. National Honor Society’s Week of Service kicks off this week, so if you see anyone asking for help signing cards or delivering treats, make sure to lend a hand! Computer Science Week also starts today, so get ready for more info on that in advisory!

Sirens!

If you’ve been in school lately, you may have noticed we keep getting sent outside for fire drills. It’s pretty evident that most students are sick of them by now, especially with the colder weather setting in. Surprisingly enough, the three evacuations we had were completely unrelated instances. The first one, at the end of October, was our normal, standard fire drill. It was planned, the teachers knew about it, nothing special. However in November, when Mrs. Cruz called over the intercom to evacuate and that “it was not a drill” – you’ll never guess – it wasn’t a drill. The boys bathroom on the left hand side of the second floor had a fire and if you saw the pictures after… it was a mess. Last week, the fire alarm went off again, but this time, there was no fire, or drill, just a faulty alarm that caused the Middle School and High School to evacuate at the end of third block. What’s ironic is that the only time there was actually a fire was the only time the alarms didn’t go off. This isn’t the first time we’ve had alarm issues either, Sophomores and upperclassmen will remember the alarms going off back to back and us having to evacuate twice in one day last spring. It’s safe to say we’re all sick of fire drills by now, so please stay far away from flammable objects… Maybe we should put the science department on hold for any combustible experiments.
